Enhancing Others

Lift as you climb….So often we hear this statement and agree with it, but are we following it?  Think of the last opportunity you received; Did you think of who could come along on the journey? As a Culture, especially this generation, we are not accustomed to amazing things happening for us. Even with the amazing evolution involving Social Media and Social Entrepreneurship, selfishly, we hold on to our success.

Speaking transparently, this is something I battle with daily. We egoistically guard all our gifts, in fear that others will steal, mimic, and benefit off of our character, and hard work. While this unfortunately I a common offense, we must strive to enhance during our evolution.

Who we are, is just that, who we are. What makes us better? Our ability to want others to see who they are as well. Enhancing or helping someone is not a strike against you. This is easier to ignore when Society constantly pushes us against each other. We’ve been trained to feel the markets we are passionate about,  only have specific room for specific people. INCORRECT.The value of enhancement is far greater in its reward.

How do you enhance someone?

1.       Help them find and use their talents or gifts

2.       Create opportunities that collaboration will be mutually beneficial.

3.       Remove envy and replace it with assistance.

You never know how helping someone else shine creates a brighter light for you, not externally, but internally. Don’t neglect yourself in this process. Create a healthy balance of self and building of others. You won’t believe how enhancing someone else will make you work harder and bring more clarity to your own projects. Always look for ways to make room for someone else.
