2018: HEART CHECK
Day 24 of 2018. Aside from checking off the goals accomplished thus far, have you checked on your heart? Yes, you read correctly, have you checked how your heart is feeling? Many people use the phrase, “I have such a big heart.”, how often are we checking to see how true that statement is? Circumstances and experiences will occur, and shift our hearts. It’s important to do evaluations to realize where we stand. As you mature there are certain things you lose tolerance for, and these things will become clearer as you experience them.
The focus of checking on your heart is being confident in the shift. There are going to be people you no longer care for, interests you no longer are excited about, and that’s ok. Accept it, and know your heart is still “Big”, just changing its portions.
The goal in heart checking is to make sure your body is in in tune with your mind. A lot of times, our hearts will tell us one thing, and our physical flesh will want to do the opposite. Checking in with your heart will keep you aligned and prepared for any shifts you encounter.
So how do you complete a Heart Check?
Ask yourself the hard questions first.
Eliminate unnecessary pressure and stress.
Decreasing your “It’s Ok” mentality with others.
Don’t force replacing what you’ve lost or what has left your life.
Be kind to yourself.
Find things that make you smile.
